The talk of the town is healthy living and to promote this national concept, our Mayor Dr Teo Ho Pin has encouraged all the RCs and Constituencies of the North West CDC to start Brisk walking clubs. During the event day on Nov 16^th , at 7.30 AM, the IAECs of five constituencies along with their respective constituency Brisk walking clubs will be joining together to organise a grand brisk walking. The event is named “Vasantha Walk’ which means ‘Spring walk’.

In the morning, there will be booths on Indian costumes and accessories

a.      Indian musical instruments and dance costumes

b.      Artworks of Kolam and Rangoli, the unique Indian art of painting the entrances of various event places

c.      Display of various Indian spices

d.      Display of Chinese and Malay costumes and accessories

Participants and visitors will be provided with hands-on experience on

a.      Mendhi and Henna art painting

b.      Flower and Thoranam tying

c.      Parrot astrology

a.      An exciting display of Indian martial arts and Yoga will be held at the open space.

a.      Indian software companies and booksellers will be showcasing their products both in Tamil and other languages.

a.      Various Multi-cultyral performances will be put up at periodic intervals throughout the morning events. There will be various competitions like Karaoke Singing, Dance, Kolam, Drawing.

b.      The Tamil TV Station ‘Vasantham Central’ will be putting up the main show for the day

c.      The Tamil Radio Station, Oli 96.8 will be also be conducting direct dedications with participants at the event.
